About The Pictures

The pictures are called digital art, created from pictures that I have taken. At the end of an hour or so, I either have what looks like a pile of mud, or something that shows a little emotion or movement to the piece. There are links behind the ones on the bottom to give a little more info of the locale of each. Have fun with them.

Just Ducky

I like nature settings, and old buildings, so I have taken many. I enjoy enhancing and cleaning them up a bit.

Though it is fleeting, summer is a time of color, nature at her best. Even the shades of green, are pleasing to the eye, the flowers are a bonus for sure.

Blue

This lake is all glacier melt. It has a hole in the bottom, as the weather cools and the melt slows, the lake goes away.

And yes it was really this blue, bluer then then one could imagine.

Sandhill

Normally when we stop the car, the Sandhill cranes move away. This guy was curious and moved closer. Eating and keeping an eye on us. Two others moved away.

Taken not far from home, the fog just having burned off, leaving a sea of shades of green and a few cranes.

Family Outing

Sandhill Cranes

They graze like cattle, and a wonder to see in flight. If you look close you can see the little one. During the summer, this is a common site in rural southern Wisconsin. Taken near Dousman.

I just loved the sea of yellow with the backdrop of the tree line.

Time Passing

Just outside of town, a bend in the road.

If these wall could talk, what would they say?

Deadwood

All I could think of was beached whales.

The snow on her back, she still commands a presence, even in death.

The Grand Canyon

When I talked to a Park Ranger, he told me of a recent land slide. And pointed it out, happened over 5o years ago.

Here time is measured in the tens of thousands of years. Change takes place slow, and yet it changes before your eyes. The colors move, shadows appear, a cloud changes the mood. It will never be repeated.

Lake Mead Low Water

Again on Bobs road. An old trail of sorts, that lead here. The white is the water level of old. Thats a 150 foot drop.

Thursday, May 7, 2009

Near Great Basin National Park

Bobs road my wife calls them. Turn down there she says, so I do. At the end of the road we found this building.  Cold, windy, dusty and I had to get the shot.
